  Kyoto Prefecture is divided into the following four areas, each of which has its own feature. Tango Area is located north of the prefecture and has beautiful nature and grand scenic view, facing the Japan Sea. Tamba Area lies in the center of the prefecture and has remnants of Japanese rustic field. Kyoto City lies to the south of the Tamba area and has a more than 1,200-year history and tradition. Finally, Yamashiro Area is situated to the farther south and has a lush green area.
