Joruri-ji Temple is also known as Kutai-ji, named after the nine statues of Amida Nyorai that form a horizontal line in the temple’s main hall. The main hall, three-storied pagoda, nine statues of Amida Nyorai and group of Four Heavenly Kings are all from the Heian period and have been designated as national treasures.
