About Kyoto Prefecture Certification Assured Hotels

Kyoto Prefecture provides the system to certify accommodation facilities that satisfy certain standards with an aim to promote the use of safe and secured accommodation facilities that prepare an environment easily used by anyone, including foreign tourists, while ensuring a harmonious coexistence with local communities, as well as to promote the tourism industry. We post the names of accommodation facilities that have been certified as “Kyoto Prefecture Certification Assured Hotels” on this homepage. In addition, we appreciate that you use these hotels where the certification stickers are placed in their entrances.

About Certification Contents

“Kyoto Prefecture Certification Assured Hotels” have taken out damage insurance provided by the ALL JAPAN RYOKAN ASSOCIATION, and taken necessary nuisance prevention measures for neighborhoods. These facilities also correspond to more than one item of (1) to (3) below.

  1. 1Facilities and environment prepared to accommodate foreign tourists
    • Wi-Fi available
    • Credit card use available
    • Installation of facility information in foreign languages
    • Continuous presence of staff who can communicate in foreign languages
  2. 2Barrier-free (wheelchair access)
    • Installation of handrails in bathrooms and toilets
    • Installation of Western-style toilets and notification facilities in case of an accident
    • Installation of stair railings, etc.
    • For facilities with the parking, assured parking space for persons with disabilities near the parking entrance
    • Installation of ramps, or elimination of level differences at entrances

    • Proactive use of and PR activities with local stores and products, etc.
    • PR activities with experience programs in local communities
    • Exchange between business owners and local communities, such as owners’ participation/cooperation in/for local events, and involvement in local organizations
